WOMEN’S SECTION - ABOUT US
WOMEN’S
SECTION
The Womens Section in Farnborough was started on 21st June 1943.
Our present committee and group have been together for 7 years but some of
the members have been attending since 1996.
At present there are 19 members but we grow steadily.
Our aim is to raise funds and to have friendship with one another.
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month from 7.30pm.
We run raffles and bring and buy, and have speakers from time to time.
In January we celebrate birthdays as so many of our members birthdays are in
that month.
February is usually Fish n Chips Night.
March or April we make Easter decorations etc.
We attend the County Conference in Winchester in November and help with
the raffle.
For the past few years we have attended The Cream Tea Afternoon in Bishops
Waltham and run a Tombola stall for The Benevolent Fund.
Each year a few of us march beind the RBL in the Remembrance Parade.
Members also help with the Poppy Appeal.
