Webmaster: Kevin J Tompkins Tel: 0845-519-0061 MIKE BIGGS APPOINTED TRUSTEE   Mike Biggs has recently been asked to be a Trustee for the Rushmoor Nepalese Support Group, Maddhat Shamuha which he has proudly accepted.  Nepalese Help (also known as Maddhat Shamuha) is a registered UK Charity which began in response to requests from the Nepalese community to have support to access services in settling in the UK. The aims and objectives of Nepalese Help are: For the benefit of people of Nepalese origin now living in the UK and in particular to work towards their integration into mainstream society and to assist them to adapt to their communities by: 1.  Advancing education, in particular by assisting in the provision of English language tuition. 2.  Providing or assisting in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare. 3.  Preserving and protecting physical and mental health. 4.  Relieving financial hardship.  This group meets on a fortnightly basis and during the meetings various speakers are invited to give details of services available to members of the group and involve them in communal projects. BEATING RETREAT Branch Chairman, Mike Biggs and Branch Secretary Heather Biggs were honoured to be invited as special guests to the Nepal Cup, Reunion and Beating Retreat on Friday 2nd July 2010 at the Wavell Grounds and New Normandy Barracks. After an excellent curry, the guests were treated to music and dancing displays followed by Beating Retreat by the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas and Pipes & Drums from Regiments of the Brigade. This was a wonderful conclusion to a very successful day.
