Webmaster: Kevin J Tompkins Tel: 0845-519-0061 Mercy Chapman recently celebrated her    80^th birthday and requested that, instead of presents,      guests could make donations to the Poppy Appeal.        Mercy and her late husband, Pete had always           been staunch supporters of the Poppy Appeal            over many years.               During the evening of her birthday party, she             raised £605.76 which was a tremendous             achievement.  Mercy was determined to raise             sufficient monies to compensate for the            cancellation of the Army Show this year and so           this amount was subsequently made up to         £1,000 (consisting of additional money received       in her birthday cards and other donations) which    she kindly presented to the Branch Chairman, Mike Biggs for the Poppy Appeal.
